TLDR: IMHO lately every single aspect of game has been ruined.
Who am I? Not the most chatty person in chats, so most of you have probably never heard about me.
Name: Xavier (previously MR Arthas and Patriarch Xavier), Server: 3
Guild: Das War Machine for this week (previously: Glory Russia, Cosa Nostra, Chaos War, Sons of Anarchy, Lunatic Fringe, Wake and Bake).
Total Power: 809665 (44th), Team Power 98996 (88th), Total Stars 299 out of 300 (8th)
Orange+4 heroes: 30 out of 60
VIP level: 17
Total spend on this game since January 2016 (I'm from UK, so I'm spending in GBP, USD values just for comparison) My disposable income allows me to spend this amount of money for entertainment, so no judgement. Was it worth it? Yes, it's way too much for video game, but I got my moneys worth of entertainment - so no regrets. Average amounts are slightly skewed (total / 12) as I had couple 1-1.5 month breaks from game:
Will go through game - area by area, but most of this has been mentioned in different threads. So nothing new.
Two last things that finished it for me:
Heroes promotion: TLDR: I'm stuck and can't promote fast enough.
It was fun to balance resources (gold, enchanting gear, stamina) and figure out which heroes to upgrade and in which order. Now you have to do latest heroes or you won't stand a chance in several areas of game. Also getting gear/xp/gold for promotion (grinding). I don't even mind that I need several hundred scraps to upgrade. But fact that they didn't thought through how stamina reduction will affect raid tickets mechanism ruined it for me. I got 350x60 free stamina refund on Christmas and lots of stamina pack and refresh gifts from guildies (thank you). I used most of it, so run out of raid tickets. Now with only 160 free daily raid tickets, I run out early in the morning (usually around noon free stamina, as I buy refreshes for 50 and 100 diamonds) - and I don't have time to spend on manually raiding whole day. (If one level takes 20-30 seconds on auto/ff, then to get 50 scraps for one gear it takes something like half hour, if I need 5-6 items to promote one hero - it's 2-3 hours. And it's boring). Raiding should be free, as it only saves time, or if it's VIP perk, then it shouldn't run out. Or at least they should allow us to buy raid tickets.
Money grab: When I started this game, you could buy diamonds, but there wasn't push to spend every single day. Now with deals running 24/7 it feels like nothing else matters, just need to get people to spend. But that again I can live with - they need/want to make money.
Stealing: But fact that they make "mistakes" like unbalanced heroes, push deals on them and then nerf them borders on criminal. Yes, I spent some money on Manicure stones and diamonds on stamina for gear, yesterday I read some threads here - apparently they knew that they made mistake with her, but didn't do anything about it and still offered deals, and are planning to "fix mistake" in near future.
Customer service: Won't even start here. Just the fact that I've not got reply to any of my reported issues is enough. I work in IT company that provides support on our software, if our support would be this level, all our customers would've gone to competitors long ago. I can see why they get away with it, but it's terrible.
Rest of game:
Contests: They were fun, different. I still remember all those expedition contests that were fun - as you had to think and work with guild to have hires for everyone. Or token earning contest I won (with lot of help from my guildies, by sending me temple invites whole day so I can get enough guild tokens). Or gold earning contests where I could go and try to figure out which items to craft/sell, etc...
Now we have either money grab contests (spend diamonds and stamina, that costs diamonds - I just bought couple stamina refreshes over weekly deals and spent them over weekend - usually got all progress rewards and top25 or 1% in rankings), or token spend contests (save them up for a week, and buy stuff on weekend).
War: Again it was fun in beginning - as guild needed to work together to figure out who takes out which line. Sometimes had to wait for weaker players to take out first lines, so you could go for strong lines. Then they added retries - unless you're completely outmatched - you just go for gold/strong line, if you fail retry on weak line. No strategy. Rankings are also not fixed since it started. Since sorting is done based on UID, then even though I get same amount of point as 5-10 players in my guild - I get much smaller amount of tokens. In other areas they have tied places, why not here? Not even talking about defense points - which screws everything up - as it's position game. Initially you wanted to be strongest tower, now you want to be right after gold towers. So you don't get attacked, as there is very small chance of getting attacked and survive due to offensive advantage.
Also there are what 3-5 strong guilds left in this server - as players are being driven off? So there is not that much challenge anyways. And for mid-good level guilds, it's either take down defences, so you don't move up in rankings or yoyo up and down, getting good rewards one week, and nothing next week.
Boss Pit: Again it was fun - you had to think how to defeat them. I still remember failing Venusia first couple days on each of first difficulties. But there haven't been new bosses since they were added. And no new difficulty levels for 3-4 months. And rewards? Why can't I move difficulty level up for next stage - same as mountain/challenge? Why can't I attack different boss, if one is started?
Challenges/Mountain: Yes, was fun, but no updates for 3-4 months. And why wouldn't you give tiaras in higher levels? As it's most needed item? Mountain - rewards don't scale with level/difficulty. What can you do with 15-20 decanters, when you need 150k experience for 1 hero. Or what can you do with 500k gold, when you need that amount for just one hero's skills, not even taking about 2mil that it takes to enchant one hero?
Pit/Coliseum: Yes, I liked it. Even though it has always been carousel. But it was challenging from time to time. And if you spent a bit of diamonds you could promote. Until we reached challenger. Now pit is just random, who gets there around rewards time and since it's 3am for me - no point of doing it. Coliseum - in challenger once people started jumping their guildies - again there is no point to compete. If not for all levels, then at least for challenger make different ranking system. Same elo as in war, or at least allow to attack only couple places above you.
Campaign: already touched it in hero upgrades. It's fun when you do it for first time, but boring afterwards, and since raiding is messed up now - practically unusable. Can't even spend money on it - as without raid tickets, I can't spend all that stamina/diamonds.
Shops: when was last significant change in shop items? Don't even remember. When was last time you could buy something you actually needed?
Sign-In: Initially these rewards made sense. But they didn't scale with higher levels. What can level 115 do with couple hundred enchanting points? Sign-in heroes were nice, but since they started offering deals on them during sign-in month - there is no point of them anymore. Only thing left is couple hundred diamonds a month.
Crypt: 50-60 bone lines? It's a chore. Why not add more levels for guilds who can do it? Smaller/weaker guilds can still pick level they can finish. Why not come up with 200-400 sensible line ups and vary their difficulty based on guildies? - as taking lines from pit doesn't work anymore - since there is very small variety.
Chests: Spend 300 diamonds to receive 3 soul stones from maxed hero? Or 400 diamonds for couple usable soul stones and small amount of xp/gold? Again it doesn't scale with player level.
Expedition: I paid at some point to get it twice a day (VIP 9? 10? perk - don't remember). As it was fun/challenging and allowed you to try out lots of different lineups Now it's again bone lines or very weak lines, can't do anything with it. And they removed extra go from perks. (Taking away something that people paid for).
Runes: I never liked them - as it's all based on luck. How many times you have seen upgrading rune to level 12, just to see electric damage being added to it? Initial random of rune generation is fine, but once you start upgrading it (spending resources) and it becomes useless - it's not usable. Either allow us to pick what stats we want on them - or if it's attached to hero - don't add something completely useless.
Updates/Stability: Do they even have QA?
New Features: When was last time something new was added? (I don't count bazaar shop - as we have enough shops already)
Temple: This is only area I still slightly enjoy.
Some stuff I will be throwing away - since I will stop playing:
In the end: Yes, it was a lot of complaining. But also couple ideas what can be done. Maybe someone will pay attention. If no - then it will just go off screen as chat messages in game. I enjoyed this game, but almost all of it's areas didn't scale with players level or have been ruined in last 3-4 months. So after this war or next war - depending on what my guildies will say once I tell them - I'll leave this game.
