I finally remembered to pay attention to how much gold we are losing with this issue so here are some numbers for general idea. These numbers will obviously vary widely based on server cap, crypt difficulty setting, player strength and ability, skull cap, quality of hires, guild's crypt participation and whether guild opens for free for all before closing time, and even the meta, which affects how many heroes are needed to clear tough lines.
Still, we can get an idea as frame of reference. When crypt is full strength (about once we week twice if lucky), I hit 9 to 10 million gold with my first 8 skulls then 2 to 5 million at closing time. Let's lowball at 11 million average daily.
When crypt is weak we only get our 8 skulls no closing time cleanup needed. Almost all lines are around 45 to 49k and produce about 192k gold resulting in very close to 1.5 mil gold daily. A few players get 2 to 2.5 mil if they can grab a few 100k lines at crypt opening time but I rarely get there in time and only a few ppl get them anyway. The gold numbers were of course lower at c2 lvl 140 but I didn't calculate.
So conservatively top players on s9 have been missing out on 9.5 million daily 5 to 6 days a week since last update, probably about 7 to 8 million daily 5-6 times per week for the several months before that due to lower server cap, and a little less gold 4 to 5 times per week for a couple months before that due to lower cap and slightly less severe crypt problem. Weaker and/or less active players still easily missing out on a few million per day. Leveling your heroes could be done just a taaaad quicker with that loot.
