King-Smoker, read again the rules....
"Special note - While we can't give away the surprise, depending on the number of entries, we will also reward every entry with a small gift shortly after the contest is over".
They didn't have to give everyone a present, but they still did, AND, they said that IF they give a present, it'll be a small present. Like you said, it's not real life, and doing this contest was fun. If you do an art work only for win and if you don't enjoy to do that, don't do that, it's easy. The main thing is to enjoy doing an art work first of all, the present is only a bonus...
Yeah, i know, "it's easy to talk for me 'cause i win", but when i decided to work during 28 hours, of course i hoped to be at the Top 5, but i didn't do that for win. I love the game, i love to draw first of all. It was a pleasure for me to draw, and it was very interesting to learn to do that. See that in that way, doing art works is very interesting 'cause you learn to do something, something -for me- funny. And it's always a good thing to learn new things, to learn to do something, and doing this good.
For example, at this moment i'm on a hudge "art work", i try to make skins for all the heroes, and i count to post it in the Forum. I'm doing that for nothing, even not for a contest, just for fun and for (eventually) give ideas of skins for the developpers of the game. Trust me, it'll be a very difficult and very long work ('cause i know me, and i'm a perfectionist), and technically i'll be win absolutely nothing.
Also, like Star say (too well) "...but if you don't know how to lose then this competition is not for you". So yeah, if you think it's unfear and the present sucks, stop all of that and sorry, but, move on (and maybe the developpers may not give you that present, if it's sucks so much ?) :/.
Have a good day, have fun, and first of all, peace.
