The team is hard at work on the future of DragonSoul, so we apologize for missing the opportunity to post a State of the Game in May. This post will quickly address current circumstances in DragonSoul.
Firstly, our recent player survey brought in a huge number of replies - thank you again for participating! Your answers help us shape DragonSoul.
The recent version 2.13 helped improve the game stability and addressed a number of long standing bugs.
We released the current version 2.13.1 last week that fixes a bug in the second wave of the Titan Temples.
Additionally, we will continue to work on improving game stability.
Our upcoming version 2.13.2 will address player requests concerning the Guild War changes made in version 2.12:
Opt In /Opt Out Cooldowns: We are exploring the possibility to remove these cooldowns in favor or a system where once you opt out of an offensive battle you will opt out of a defensive battle as well automatically, independent of the time frame that the defensive battle takes place in. We want to ensure this is possible as envisioned, but we believe it is the experience we should be able to deliver. Another option under consideration is lowering the cooldowns to 12 hours instead of the current 24 hours.
This would allow players to opt out for a single battle only - keep in mind that you can not join a single running battle, so when opting back in you will join the next attack after that.
50% minimum Opt In: This rule was intended to remove guilds from the Guild War schedule that are dissolving or falling apart. The intent was to catch guilds that lose more than 50% of their members after registration - however since this rule is currently tied to the Opt In criteria, we understand that for smaller guilds this is affecting them despite the guild being overall stable in the member numbers. This rule is planned to be removed. A minimum of 10 players opted in will however still be required to stay registered for Guild War.
New Guild Members eligible for War: Newly joined members will not be able to participate mid-battle during the current battle taking place in a running Guild War. However, they will be able to participate as normal in the next battle rather than waiting for the new Guild War start in the next war week.
We plan to release 2.13.2 in the coming weeks.
We are already preparing for the next major update: version 2.14, which will include a new Chapter 22 and will show players a glimpse of what your heroes can achieve after reaching Orange +8 rarity and level 125. This is a big project for us, and we can not share the details yet - but we hope you enjoy Chapter 21 and the Orange +8 rarity coming to servers 1 to 6 on June 27th.
Our second big project for DragonSoul is an update for shops. We previously announced that Token Prices will be adjusted for Gear that you can buy in Token Shops - this will be adjusted similar to Gold Prices, where it is ensured that Gear needed for lower rarities is less expensive than Gear needed for higher rarities.
We are also reworking the Bazaar and the Trader / Merchant / Black Market trifecta to offer you new hero soul stones more consistently and more often, while the other Token Shops will offer a monthly selection from an established pool of heroes always found there that is reliably refreshed.
The latest heroes have been released on all servers via the Gold Chest. These new heroes will have a special “Hero of the Month” status for the first few weeks - they will initially be obtainable from chests and various traders, in addition to featuring in contests as prizes and earning you more points in contests in the first weeks to empower players to invest in those new heroes when they get them.
We are also working on providing Mastery Skins and Legendary skills to existing heroes. A lot of our focus however is currently on the Guild War adjustments for the immediate work and on the future of the game for the planning. This does not mean that we will not include Mastery Skins or Legendary Skills in the future updates, but they will come at slower pace than before to allow us to focus on the above mentioned projects.
We thank you for playing DragonSoul and being part of our community!
