With many heroes, it's been clear, just reading their skill descriptions, that they'd be broken. The testing GREE does is pretty minimal, or just not done correctly. They should test new heroes against real Fight Pit, Colosseum and War lines, and against randomized teams of existing heroes. If they did that, they'd see immediately whether a hero is overpowered or underpowered. They could even get free QA from players, by releasing untested heroes on a special, invite-only server.
Snapper Bone is screen-freeze-proof, so he will beat every line currently being used in Fight Pit, 2/3 of the lines in Colosseum, and most lines in Crypt, Expedition and War if auto is turned on. And that's with no runes (campaign enemies don't have runes). It seems that there are very few ways to beat him:
- True Damage, which very few heroes have, and even fewer good heroes.
- Teams that don't freeze the screen, but those teams will lose against every non-Snapper team, as well as most Snapper teams (if the snapper team has screen freeze).
- Modes where you can turn auto off, since Snapper's easy to kill once his shield goes down.
It's well known that, once a hero is released, GREE won't change that hero. In the past two years, I think Mistress Manicure was the only hero they rebalanced, and that was because of an obvious bug. Other bugs, like KK's early white, are left alone forever. This is why I suggested that GREE do more testing with Snapper Bone before he's released to the public. Alternatively, they can fix the screen freeze issue, but I imagine that's much harder.
