Disclaimer: I have played for maybe 6 months, so I'm still fairly new to the game. Please take everything I propose with a grain of salt.
Actually, I have had a lot of ideas over this time, but today I'm just going to share my thoughts on the coliseum.
Idea No. 1: The 'Jumping' in Challenger: As some of you may know, there is this thing called 'jumping' in coliseum where a player lowers his def to let a guild member jump him. Now the guild has two members in Challenger Tier. While this is not a big problem per sè, it seem like an unwanted mechanic.
I'm not salty or anything, I jumped sometimes as well and let others jump me. The Coliseum should be a place for competition, not for sort of abusing game mechanics. (Not calling this bug or exploit btw.)
How would I fix this?
a) You can only change your def lineup once every 10 minutes. (Yes, you can't fas-react to a weak spot, downside of this idea)
b) You always need to have at least 5 heroes in each line (jumping still possible, but not too easy)
c) Some sort of script that watches for suspicious actions (lowering def and resetting it multiple times per day) and sends out warnings. If you don't stop, idea A will be imposed on you (for X time)
Idea No. 2: Defensive Win Rewards
Right now you get a whooping 10 coins for a def win. Meaning you need 50 def wins to buy 1 stack of soulstones or 500 def wins for an item. I sat in 3 different plat 1 groups over the last couple of weeks, always at rank 1 or 2, and the most I had were 12 attacks in one day. But usually its more like 5-7. I think this system could use a revamp aswell.
Here's my Idea
First of all, it is important that Tokens (Coli and FP) keep their worth and don't get inflated, so I will not suggest 100 coins per win.
In my perfect world scenario you would get 50 tokens for the first def win of the day, 20 for all following win. 100 bonus tokens for a def win streak of 3. So if you get attacked three times and win 3 times you are now looking at 190 tokens compared to 30 you're getting now.
But would this inflate the tokens? While you are able to get more, the win streak bonus is imo not guaranteed by any means. It would also provide a reason for working on your defensive.
(Bonus This would offer room for some little gimmicky features like a revenge bonus if you defeat the one who defeated you, a 'party pooper' bonus if you end a def-win streak)
Wont this system be abusable? In theory yes. You could farm a def streak by getting attacked by guild members or friends. Easiest fix would be to say 'no tokens from def wins vs. guild members or friends, but that is wonky.
Idea No. 3: Coliseum Rewards
Right now rewards are given out at a fixed time. A time, that sucks for europe TBH (like 4-5 in the morning). I get that this is prime time for most of the US and russia and Asia, but hey, we want part of that cake as well. So the following idea is not yet finished, but I'd like some input.
I suggest a 'king of the hill' kind of reward system, where you get a certain amount of (gold, tokens, pots, diamonds etc.) for each (time unit, maybe make it so every 10 minutes you get one tick of rewards?) you stay in that reward group. It doesnt matter right now if you ar 50th or 1st in challenger at 11AM GMT and all of ur attacks will be wasted, which is imo a shame because there is no way for me to get a good spot short of setting an alarm at 3.30AM which is kind of stupid.
Anyways, happy to get some feedback. I know all ideas are far from perfect and I have no idea if they are even possible.
