O5 and O6 gear was designed to address an issue. Often times, a set of fully enchanted gear of a lower rarity would be more powerful than a promoted character with 1-3 pieces of gear or the promotion was less impactful in general. I applaud Gree for listening to the community and implementing a solution in the most recent update.
That said, I do not like how it is working out. First, the whales are outpacing the rest of the players much, much more quickly. That's a benefit of paying money, I get that. They fund the game, so I do not begrudge them. I would like a big spender to reply and let me know if it is any fun stomping lower spenders and FTP players since this update. I suspect that some level of boredom sets in when other players are beaten so easily in all modes of PvP in Dragon Soul.
Second, I do not like how character balance has been affected. Gear for tanks does not help them keep pace with the immense amount of damage that Damage and even Support and Control heroes can do. The result is bursty combat encounters that are decided by nothing more than whose Medusa stuns first.
I know Sven and Tactics have a lot on their plates. I do hope, however, that the community will help keep an eye on this and let Gree staff know if this should be addressed, or if O5 and O6 gear was a good solution to what the community requested.
