I've considered the possibility that the delay between hitting his portrait/auto initiating his active and actually starting the animation may have provided a brief window of opportunity for enemy heroes to pop their whites, but I was pretty sure It had already started by the time, for instance, Water Wyrm cast his active. I'll keep a close eye on it.
@DSSven I've been looking forward to this hero since I heard about his release. I like the design - nice work and thanks for putting so much thought into it.
Yep, it happened again, this time with Moon Drake on their team firing.I think it has something to do with the enemy having full SE when they first hit the line.
I'd take a video, but GREE did away with videos when they decided to make Coli and Pit attacks insta-losses if it pauses. And in order to take a video on my iPhone, it has to pause at first while a modal window comes up. So...
I'm back with more findings as I am getting closer to maxing out his skills and have tested him with a bunch of different setups.
Damage output: So far this seems to be on the low end. I'll retest after his skills are completely maxed but he often does no damage during the battle (similar to Sojourner Sorceress) which is kind of sad considering most of his runes are geared towards damage output.
Healing: Haven't really noticed a whole lot of difference.
--Lastly the big news--I swapped his runes out with my Wolf's runes. This put him at max starting energy and near 200% movement speed with Dungeon Man. I started the battle fairly unconvinced this would make that much of a change. Low and behold the second he entered the screen the disco ball dropped and the screen became all flashy as he fired his white! My brief second of excitement was followed by the opposing spider immediately firing off his white, soon followed by the opposing Wolf firing her white and Dungeon Man / Moon Drake all firing their white while the Karaoke King animation was still in progress. I have tried dozens of times in multiple circumstances and the opposing teams whites continue to fire during the animation.
Conclusion: Karaoke King's white is either completely broken or is ridiculously easy to resist.
So glad that someone else tested this guy in the meta! So you've encountered the same bug as I have.
Based on what I've seen, it would appear that if used in the meta, King is ineffective - anyone on the opposing side that has 1000 SE when they hit the "line" (and can use their active) will not be affected by King's active skill, regardless of who fired first.
@DSKenshirou_X can you bring this to the attention of your QA team, please? Fixing this hero will encourage EVERYONE who is competitive on all servers to rush to level this guy, and that means big revenue.
More bugs have been found.
For fun and to allow others to see Karaoke King at a high level I decided to put a defensive team in pit of Slayer, Dungeon Man, Karaoke King, Wolf and Moon. I logged an hour after taking first spot, and to my surprise I had 30+ fight pit defenses. I then read in VIP chat that apparently this team is causing timeouts against any team it's matched against. I've been told the characters enter the screen and just sit there, nobody attacking until time is out. @DSKenshirou_X may want to look into this sooner than later.
Tried that and it didn't work for me. Perhaps moon needs to have 1000 SE at t=0 for this bug to occur?
Tested him in gw offense today. He didn't really work there. Needed to take a video to find out why, but it seemed like he stops his white animation after he takes any damage...
I wonder if There is gonna be more new toons coming out? (Except Sven’s toon)
I tested in Fight Pit and found exactly the same thing...
His animation stopped for a split second, as wolf used Mesmerize, then it carried on, until Shaman used High Voltage, Twice, and then carried on until DM used Roll the Die and then carried on until Drac used Revenant.... and then I was dead!
So yeah, overall, Karaoke Kings White Skill was fine until the opposing team used their Whites....
Haha. His White skill is great except when its not be doing exactly what it's supposed to do.
Maybe we'll finely get a fix for starting energy. 8 of 10 new heros are worthless and the only two anyone uses either drain starting energy or block the drain.
Losing count of how many new heros are crap because of this starting energy nonsense.
Let's just say that his white is bugged somehow, and not always working as expected...It's super hard to test in fp or coli with the current SE+movement meta. Here's my take in GW today. I've used horse not to take any damage. I'm pretty sure that at 0:18 Plant and Dracul would of fire their whites for a split second, but they didn't, so karaoke worked here.
My first impression is "tasty"
Sven concept he made for this creature was great originally but they just had to Gree it up didnt they....we need bone dragon 2.0 where he ignores slayer abilities lol, then game will be a little challenge again and people wont be relying on op wolfs..same gree different creatures... its every month bro (jake paul voice lol)..im done
Yes. Add a hero that cuts everyone starting energy in half including DM effect. Nobody should step on battle w more than maybe 750.
Game could be more fun if we could use more than the same heros.
Uhm ... I hit you Zurvan with Horse - DM - Wolf - Moon - Archer .... wiped you out ....
Yes, Karoake Kings white is broken. I swapped my runes back to my Wolf because his white does nothing other than have him dance. I guess the screen freeze glitch was resolved or inconsistent.
Paging @DSKenshirou_X once again... is your team aware your brand new hero is broken?
Thanks, Conky. Also, I'd like to thank everyone for their input. We'll get our QA team to make sure that Karaoke King is operating as intended before going to our designers. From the looks of things, my impression is the character is working as intended by design but may need to be re-balanced and have its skills slightly re-adjusted. There seems to be an in-game communication issue too. None the less, let's get everything verified first.
So I've made two more tests today. It's pretty clear that any damage taken by Karaoke King is breaking his white. It's hard to believe that it's the intended design.
Here's the first video. Take note that around 0:06 dracul casts his green, then at the exact time Karaoke's animation fades and Dracul casts his white, with Bulwark casting along. Well at least from that video we can prove that Karaoke's green magic immunity works.
Here's the second video. Nobody touched Karaoke, so his white continued until the end as expected.
