Ok so earlier one in my guild we used to have themed names for guild members based on their power level. 150k and you were a Juggernaut, 250k and you were a Dreadnaught... etc. Its something we kind of fell out of because it was just a verbal thing but when we did to it, players really enjoyed the recognition for hitting certain milestones in the guild. It now we celebrate things like taking down 3 bone lines in one war battle or taking down a line with only 1 hero in war.
Gree can't possible account for the myriad ways guilds note their personal achievements in game. However, they could set up a system where guild leaders and officers could do this on their own. Hence my idea.... Guild Badges.
Guild Badges can built completely with assets that already exist in the game only thing that would need doin' by Gree would be to update the interface for them and store the values in the database by the guild leader/officer. 1st, where do we manage these new badges. I recommend a button on the guild page that is accessible by all for viewing so outside player can see what you award badges for. Like so:
Now lets say each guild can have up to 10 badges (this can be whatever number seems reasonable but 10 seems good to me). Each badge could also have individual levels of significance. (think rarity color, white to orange). Here is one possible example of a badge a guild leader might create:
Other possible examples could be based on power level. Going 36-0 in war for x weeks. The possibilities are endless since they are completely managed by the officers in the guild.
Ok, so how do players know what badges they have? The first place I would suggest displaying badges is on the Guild Members screen. There is a ton of dead space here and if we stick with 10 badges, you could display 2 rows of 5.
Clicking on the badge would show the name of the achievement as well as its requirement, much like pressing on other items displays vital stats.
It can also be added to the guild chat window in 2 ways. 1st with a badge to the right of the player portrait. The number would be the sum of the badges based on rarity. Orange = 5, purple = 4, etc..
If you click on a the chat msg you could also see a display like so:
Again this wouldn't require any new assets. just tweaks to the current interface and some extra DB space.
The perk of this though would be that it would breathe some new player generated life into the game, limited only by what guild officers are willing to dream up and track..
Let me know your thoughts... what I don't want to hear are comments like "I'd rather they fix this.. or add that..." Just your thought's on the merits of this particular idea, if you please..
