Reasons Heroes Before Minions Suxs.
1 – There will be almost no variety in line 1. It will be whatever the most difficult line in Pit is at any given time… there is very little variety in fight pit because there is always ONE LINE with only slight derivatives that rule the rosters.
2 – If you are a lower powered player in a guild or up against a significantly more powerful guild. There will be very little you can do against the enemy team… Time to Family Fued and get 3 X’s
3 – Some players struggle in the current dynamic with the ability to charge their line. Reverse the order, they are screwed.
4 – If you add war modifiers on top of the reversed order, even great players will likely be foiled by Line 1 as their usual counter’s to such lines will fall short due to buffs/debuffs.
5 – Pit and Coliseum are Stale environments, switching war to this mechanic is just as stale.
6 – You are making it more challenging with zero imagination. There’s nothing new here at all! It will frustrate players who are already immensely frustrated with the current system by making one that is SIGNIFICANTLY more difficulty with zero value added.
I’ll meet you half way though… make it War Modifier, have it in effect for 1 week and see how people react.
I don’t have a crystal ball… but I’d place bets on a HUGE negative reaction.
War is one of the few aspects of the game that is keeping players engaged... this would be a pretty epic folly IMO... and drive players away.
If you want to make war more challenging, maybe get some modifiers that affect more than a few Heroes (Hydration last week, and Toxic Darts a couple times now)
