How you feel about this contest is directly proportionate to which server you're on. I play a VIP 9 acct on S5 and a free to play VIP 0 acct on S11 and the contrast could not be any more stark.
On S5, you need a mere (yes, this is the right word) 2500 Orange scraps to hit 10M points. For a non-capped player, challenges alone will average ~70 Orange & ~45 purple scraps per run (effectively 92.5 Orange per run since Purple is 1/2 of Orange value). With 25 runs (5 Fri, 5 Sat, 15 Sun), * 92.5 Orange scraps/run * 4000pts/scrap = 9.25M pts just in challenges. With a 10M top tier, that's essentially a giveaway. (and if you are capped out, the challenges alone might do it for you since you would have access to challenges XIV)
Now look at S11: only one Orange scrap is offered per challenge. For Challenges VI, your expected haul is ~20 purple scraps & 3 orange. Let's say you're lucky & avg 22 & 4 for a functional equivalent of 15 orange scraps/run. At a 5M top tier you need 1250 Orange scraps (or equivalent) to max but 25 runs * 15 scraps/run * 4000 pts/scrap = 1.5M pts.
In other words, on S5 this is a giveaway. On S11, it's a tease.
I personally find the progress and rank rewards to be "worth" it both ways as on S5 the rewards are not very valuable but they're nice vs. the effort required to get them whereas on S11 the 4* & 5* ore offerings are decent money for catching up skills and the chests are proportionately way more valuable on a less mature server.
The real issue (aside from the lack of imagination by using the same freaking new toons in FP/Coli again; OK, expo was added too. Big deal. We get it--you want to force us to use the new toons) is that whomever is setting the progress tiers is doing so without any thought whatsoever as to the relative difficulty of the numbers they're picking vis a vis the resources available on that server. They may as well have thrown darts.
Bottom line--contests need more thought put into them. This is true both on the score target side AND on the originality side. A "clever" paragraph write up describing the same damn heroes being used the same exact way does not qualify. Kudos for keeping the scrap differences and continuing to make older skins available; those are improvements. But S11 & S5 may as well be running two different events for as different the expectations are. That's poor planning and there's really no excuse for it.
