That would make everyone who spent money and time to gather the perfect runes start whining. Every player on the server would have exactly 500 because it is so easily achievable.
Increasing the trigger point to 2000 would still give them the advantage.
Alternatively, they could cut the values on the runes by 50 to 75 percent and the guys with the best runes would still have the best runes.
There's no way Per Blue envisioned that heros would be full of energy before the battle even started. It has wrecked the game.
I'm sure it was just sloppy development. They probably didn't expect that the game would rot and that all we'd get would be another 40 levels.
Many games add an End Game that reinvigorates things once you reach the final level. Remember they were planning this? I believe it was going to be some kind of monthly reset where the game could continue to be fresh for a long time. It is my understanding that Gree squashed development on this.
These last 40 levels were unnecessary and harmful to the game. Dungeon Man is the perfect example. Imagine trying to play the game when there are Level 200 Dungeon Men running around giving 5000 Starting Energy to everyone teamed with level 200 Shaman giving out 500 Energy every second.
Something needs to change. And soon.
