It's very clear that on the server I'm on (s5) and all servers with lower numbers, and even many servers with higher numbers, that there are only a few actual heroes that matter. Dragon Slayer is one, Dungeon Man is another, Spirit Wolf is another, Karaoke King is another, and from there, your mileage may vary. I've seen a lot of Void, a lot of Moon Drake, Spiders, Goblin Trios. There are, however, a lot more heroes that are simply not useable as things currently stand.
Thus I would propose a simple change to the existing game infrastructure:
- Effective Immediately, Dungeon Man's basement provides 50% energy (you need to move out and get a real job, sorry)
- Effective Immediately, all runes with the 'Starting Energy' quality no longer provide starting energy. If it's easy enough to script, just give all of those runes a random 'eligible' quality. If not, well, patch it 'later'. Which can be never as far as I care, but I'm sure plenty care about that.
This would eliminate the current meta of creating 'flash-teams' (there is a much more commonplace word for it that is NSFW and generally offensive, so I'm going with that one). These 'flash-teams' immediately activate white skills, completely locking down the enemy team until they are all dead, which would no longer be possible based upon my proposal.
If this were implemented, people would need to actually think about what teams they should be using. Dragon Slayer would continue to be very powerful, as would Bone Dragon (if no Slayer, then Bone Dragon, obviously!), but the fights would no longer be about who has a marginally better rune setup. Instead, there would be elements of, dare I even suggest it, STRATEGY. Which would seem like a good idea for a game that has so many heroes.
Anyway, just a thought. As usual, I expect nothing, but continue to hope that the game will begin to move in a direction I would have more fun with, and which I would expect more people would also have more fun with.
